Pismo Beach has long been one of HSC’s most popular campouts! It’s a great location right on the edge of town while also being right at the beach. There are lots of activities and fun places to visit in Pismo Beach and the neighboring towns, and it’s easy to replenish ice, food, or get takeout. For anyone wanting to relax in nature at camp, the campground directly adjoins a monarch butterfly sanctuary and the dunes to the beach.
Temperatures in September average a high of 72ºF and low of 50ºF, with little rain. But prepare for anything! Past campouts have seen daytime highs ranging from 50º’s to 80º’s, nighttime lows from 40º’s to 60º’s. We’ve had completely dry campouts to heavy rains (rare, but possible). The campground is right next to the ocean and it’s not unusual to have a damp marine layer move in overnight, so weatherproof gear is important.
Our group will be sharing several small campsites. One site will be used for the camp kitchens and group campfire. The campground has water available, with flush toilets and token-operated showers. RV parking is very limited. RV’s are allowed in the park, but the each individual site has unique parking limitations. \*ANYONE INTERESTED IN BRINGING AN RV MUST CONTACT THE CAMPOUT COORDINATORS AT CAMPOUTS@HSC.ORG TO VERIFY A SPOT IS AVAILABLE.\*
